This workshop is open to beginners and experienced drummers alike. Whether you're stepping into the world of Taiko for the first time or looking to refine your technique, this is your chance to dive into an unforgettable rhythmic journey.

Bonus: Participation in a Stockholm Taiko workshop is a requirement for those interested in joining Stockholm Taiko as a future member!

We strongly recommend joining the full Workshop (basic course and advanced cours) to get the most out of your Taiko experience! This will allow you to build strong fundamentals and apply them in the second session while playing a Taikosong.

Kl. 11.00 - 13.30: Basic course - Introduction to Taiko drumming, basic rhythms, and movements. Open to all skill levels (Beginner to Intermediate)

Kl. 14.30 - 17.00: Advanced course  - Learn a basic Taiko song and play together Open to all skill levels (Beginner to Intermediate)

Practical Information

Lunch & Breaks: You can buy lunch at the museum Restaurant Matmekka. Snacks and drinks for short breaks are recommended.

Meet Your Instructor: Maki Kobayashi

A native Japanese Taiko artist, Maki Kobayashi has been a leading figure in Sweden’s Taiko scene since 2018. With a black belt in both Karate and Judo, Maki brings a unique, martial arts-inspired approach to Taiko—offering a rhythmic experience that blends power, precision, and mindfulness.
