Japanese Tea Ceremony (Chanoyu) reached a major peak of development in the 14th century, alongside Noh theater. Far beyond just enjoying tea and sweets, it is a holistic art form experienced through all five senses—expressed through seasonal nuances and hospitality embedded in every choice of utensil and tearoom setting.
In this workshop, Kyoto-based tea master Sōchi Wakebayashi leads an introduction to the spirit and enduring appeal of tea culture. Participants will enjoy authentic Japanese matcha alongside thoughtfully selected seasonal sweets.
We invite you to immerse yourself in the art of the tea ceremony.
