Accessability
Etnografiska museet/The Museum of Ethnography strives to ensure ease of access for all our visitors.
- The Museum's entrance area is at street level and has no stairs.
- There are automatic door openers.
- Both by the entrance area and in the library there are disabled toilet facilities with automated door opening and closing.
- All exhibition areas are accessible via wheelchair.
A wheelchair is available for use in the Museum.
- A lift is in operation.
- To reach the exhibition Japan – Image and Self-image there are five steps up.
There is also a lift up to the exhibition.
If you wish to use the lift, please tell the personnel at reception in the entrance area who will be pleased to help you.
- In certain places the light in the exhibitions is limited, even creating an impression of darkness. This is partly due to certain objects being sensitive to light and partly for purposes of presentation.
- Prams/strollers are welcome and access is good.A stroller is available for use in the museum.
- Nappy/diaper changing tables are to be found in all toilets.
- The museum auditorium is equipped with a hearing loop.
- Guide system for hearing aid users: To improve the sound quality for users of hearing aids during exhibition visits we offer the Univox guide system. The system consists of a pocket size receiver with neckloop for visitors wearing a hearing aid. Just mention at the reception that you would like a neckloop for your visit and the guide will use a microphone. In this way you will get maximum benefit from your visit to us!

Museum visiting address: Djurgårdsbrunnsvägen 34. Mobility Service (Färdtjänst) may park next to the main entrance of the Museum.
