A weekend with Mexican folk dance and mariachi music, market, screenings, ofrenda altars, face painting, film showings, and skeleton workshops. The music and dance performance “Fiesta en el cementerio / Party in the Cemetery” will be presented four times during the weekend.

In this course you will learn how to make a colorful papier-mâché skull, or cartonería as it is called in Mexico. Together with the instructor, we will make skulls from scratch and decorate them. You can then take your skull home, and with the skills you gain during the day you’ll be able to make more at home.

¡Viva México! showcases Mexico’s multifaceted origins and traditions. Follow the paw prints of the mythical hairless dog Xolo, who guides children through the exhibition.
